Connectivity

 

  1. Assign Static IP if needed
  2. yum upgrade -y
  3. Enable OpenSSH:
    1. chkconfig sshd on
      service sshd start

Install Extra Repository

wget http://packages.sw.be/rpmforge-release/rpmforge-release-0.5.2-2.el6.rf.x86_64.rpm
rpm -i rpmforge-release-0.5.2-2.el6.rf.*.rpm

Install Applications

yum install linux_logo htop nano -y

Enable SUDO Access

Create Vault and Backups Folder

Edit Skeleton Files

Add the following code to the /etc/skel/.bashrc to produce a coloured prompt:

Install VMWare Tools

yum install gcc gcc-c++ kernel-devel kernel-headers make -y
reboot
./vmware-install.pl

Install Webmin

Create the /etc/yum.repos.d/webmin.repo file containing:

name=Webmin Distribution Neutral

enabled=1

Install

wget http://www.webmin.com/jcameron-key.asc
rpm --import jcameron-key.asc
yum install webmin -y
nano /etc/webmin/miniserv.conf 
change default port and listen from 10000 to 82 and save.
service webmin restart
echo '-A INPUT -m state --state NEW -m tcp -p tcp --dport 82 -j ACCEPT' >> /etc/sysconfig/iptables
service iptables restart

Install Centrify

mkdir /home/vault/centrify
cp /home/vault/serverfiles/Installs/Centrify/CentOS/centrify-* /home/vault/centrify
tar xzf centrify*
./install-express.sh
