Ingredients
- 10-12 lemons
- 3lb of Seville Oranges (approximately 6 Oranges)
- 4-5 Pints of water (2 1/2 cups = 1 pint), 12 1/2 Cups
- 4 lb of sugar (4 1/2 lb = 2kg bag)
- Muslin for Straining (cheese clothe)
- Jam Jars for filling
The Fun Part
- Wash Fruit
- Put Oranges and Lemons into large saucepan
- Add the water and simmer for 3 hours
- Throw away lemons
- Cut oranges into quarters and scrape out the pulp, then put into a small saucepan
- Add 2 ladles of liquid from large saucepan into a small saucepan, including the pulp
- Boil for ten minutes, then let cool
- Thinly slice up the orange skins and add them back to the water in the large saucepan
- When small saucepan product is cooled, put into a muslin cloth and squeeze every drop you can into a bowl
- Add the just to the large saucepan and throw away and throw away what was left in the muslin cloth
- Leave this overnight
- Next day, add the sugar slowly into the large saucepan (Not letting it come to a boil) making sure that the sugar's completely desolved
- When sugar is disolved, bring to a voil and boil untul it sets on a froxen late
- When sugar is disolved, bring to a boil and (1 1/2 - 1 3/4Hrs)
- Fill Jars
